The differences between experimental and control areas found to be significant at confidence level 90% were also considered significant for comparing changes in experimental and control areas. A significant difference (marked improvement in experimental groups as compared to control group) was found in the following factors of S. W.B.I.

Expectation-achievement congruence

Level of Significance
Bangalore 0.007 Significant
Delhi Not significant
Lucknow 0.001 Significant

Inadequate Mental Mastery

Level of Significance
Bangalore 0.081 Significant
Delhi 0.024 Significant
Lucknow 0.031 Significant

S.W.B. Negative Affect

Level of Significance
Bangalore 0.091 Significant
Delhi 0.089 Significant
Lucknow 0.025 Significant

A significant difference between experimental and control area (more improvement in experimental area) was also observed for the factor "family group support" at Delhi centre.

A significant difference was also observed for the factor 'transcendence' at Lucknow centre.

A significant difference between experimental and control area was found for nutritional status of children at Bangalore and Lucknow centres (Table 19). Although the nutritional status of children at Lucknow centre did not change in experimental area, but it showed deterioration in control area. Therefore the comparison between experimental and control area show significant results at Lucknow.

The improvement in development quotient of children was significantly more in experimental area as compared to control area at Delhi and Lucknow centres (Table 19).
