The design used in the study involved experimental and control
groups with prospective follow ups.
As decided, totally 140 families, 70 from the study group
and 70 for the control group were selected from each centre.
These were equally divided in both study areas i.e., rural
and city slum. The study group and the control group were
both chosen based on the following inclusion criteria.
1. A family with children between 3 and 6 years of age living
with their parents.
2. A family with 2 or more risk factors listed on the HRC.
Once identified, only the study group would receive the intervention
and the control group would not receive the intervention.
The intervention involved talking to the mothers regarding
their various problems, counselling family members, finding
various ways of problem solving for the risk factors present
i:n the family and utilising them, and performing graded tasks
(As explained in the manual).
